AI tools for church graphics, compared: ChurchCreate, Church Canvas, PixelChurch and more
What each AI church graphics tool costs, what one request gets you, and which kind of church each one fits. Written by the people who make ChurchCreate.
There are now a handful of AI tools built just for church graphics, plus the general ones everybody already has. They work differently, they charge differently, and they're good at different things.
I run ChurchCreate, so I'm not a neutral reviewer. I've tried to be fair anyway. Everything below about other tools comes from their own public pages and pricing as of October 2026. Prices change, so check each site before you decide.
The short version
| Tool | Starts at | How it charges | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Church Canvas | $10 a month | Credits, about one per image | The lowest price, and people who like to prompt and edit |
| PixelChurch | $15 a month | Credits, one per image or size | Layered PSD files, Spanish versions and countdown videos |
| ChurchGraphics.app | $99 a month | Unlimited projects, with usage limits in the app | Teams that want lots of editing tools in one place |
| Canva | Free, Pro about $15 to $18 a month | Per person | Someone who wants to design it themselves, including print |
| ChatGPT, Gemini and other general tools | Free tiers | Per person | Backgrounds and one-off images |
| ChurchCreate | Free, then $27 a month | Projects, with every size included | Finished designs in your church's look without writing prompts |
What to compare before you pick
The monthly price is the easiest thing to compare and the least useful. These four questions tell you more.
- What do you get from one request? One image, a few rough drafts, or several finished designs to choose from.
- Are the other sizes included? A series needs a screen slide, a feed post, a story and usually a square. Some tools charge for each one.
- Will it look like your church? Some tools learn your logo, colors and style. Others start from a preset every time.
- Can you fix it afterward? Every AI tool gets a word wrong sometimes. You need a way to correct it without starting over.
Church Canvas
Church Canvas is the low-price option. Basic is $10 a month for up to 60 credits, and Plus is $30 a month for up to 200. It starts with a 7-day trial of Plus that needs a card.
You write a prompt and choose from around 180 style presets, with options for mood, palette, your logo and reference images. Plus adds editing tools like changing text, removing objects and reframing to other sizes, and it can build slide decks you export to PowerPoint.
It suits someone who is comfortable prompting and likes to steer the design by hand. Check Scripture text carefully, which is good advice for every tool on this list.
PixelChurch
PixelChurch comes from PixelPainters, a church design studio. Solo is $15 a month for 60 credits, with the first month at $9, and Growth is $29 a month for 200 credits. You can buy extra credits in packs when you run out.
You give it a title, a verse and a sentence or two, and choose one of 28 styles. It makes three drafts, finishes the one you pick, and then builds each extra size for a credit apiece. It's the only tool here that exports layered PSD files or makes one-click Spanish versions, and Growth adds countdown videos and bumpers.
It suits a church that wants editable files or motion, or serves a Spanish-speaking congregation.
ChurchGraphics.app
ChurchGraphics.app is $99 a month for unlimited projects, with usage limits for some tools shown inside the app. It has a 3-day trial that needs a card, and a $19 a month tier for church plants that you apply for.
It uses a chat that asks one question at a time, then makes two concepts per project, with two more on request. After you pick, it makes up to five sizes. It has a lot of editing after the design is made, including painting over an area to change it, plus a brand kit, a slides builder and ProPresenter-ready exports.
It suits a team that wants lots of control after the design is made and can use the unlimited plan fully.
Canva
Canva isn't an AI church tool, but it's where most churches start, so it belongs here. The free plan goes a long way. Pro runs about $15 to $18 a month for one person, depending on when you signed up, and Canva has a nonprofit program worth checking your church against.
You start from a template or a blank page and design it yourself, with AI features to help. It handles print and every size you could want.
It suits someone who likes designing and has the time to do it. The hours are the cost, not the subscription.
ChatGPT, Gemini and other general image tools
General AI tools can make a good-looking image from a sentence, and you may already pay for one. They're great for a background, a texture or a one-off image for a slide.
They're harder to use for a whole series. You have to describe your church's look every time, get each size right yourself, and check every word of text, since general tools still misspell words more often than you'd expect. They also don't know what a sermon slide needs to do from the back row.
ChurchCreate
This is ours. You tell it what you need in a short chat, and it makes three finished concepts in your church's look. You pick one and get every size, Screen, Feed, Story and Square, plus custom sizes, without spending more. Refining the text or swapping a background doesn't use up anything either.
It learns your church from your website and a short style quiz, and it creates from a library of 300,000 designs our team has made for churches since 2015.

The Free plan has 3 projects to start, then 1 a month, plus the Weekly Drop, a fresh set of finished designs to download every week. No card needed. Starter is $27 a month for 5 projects, Pro is $67 for 15 and Max is $147 for 40. You can add 3 more projects for $17 anytime. There are quarterly and yearly plans too, and yearly works out to two months free.
Here's what it doesn't do yet. ChurchCreate makes screen graphics only, so no print. It doesn't export layered files, make videos or build slide decks. If you need those, one of the tools above may suit you better.
Which one should you pick?
- If budget is the main thing, start with Church Canvas or PixelChurch.
- If you need PSD files, Spanish or motion, look at PixelChurch.
- If you want to edit everything after, try ChurchGraphics.app.
- If you enjoy designing and need print, stay in Canva.
- If you want finished designs in your church's look with every size included, try ChurchCreate.
Most of these have a free trial or a free plan. Make the same graphic in two of them and put both on your own screen. That will tell you more than any comparison, this one included.
